The RideNow Driver app is a work tool for couriers delivering on behalf of RideNow Delivery. It is not a consumer app: an account is issued by RideNow Delivery to a person employed or contracted to make deliveries, and the data below is collected to operate and evidence that work.
What we collect
- Account details — the name, email address and phone number attached to the driver account your dispatcher created for you.
- Precise location — collected only while you switch Go online on, and then roughly every 30 seconds until you switch it off or sign out. It is used to show customers where their delivery is, to let dispatch route and reassign work, and to reconstruct a route if a delivery is disputed. Your device battery level is sent with it so dispatch can see when a phone is about to die mid-shift. The app does not collect location while it is closed.
- Proof of delivery— a photo you take at the doorstep and a recipient signature you capture on screen, plus the recipient name and the one-time delivery code you enter. Photos are taken through your phone’s camera app only when you tap the capture button; the app has no continuous camera access.
- Delivery and cash records — which shipments you started, delivered or marked failed, the reasons you gave, and cash-on-delivery amounts you collected and remitted.
- Attendance — shift start and end times you record in the app.
The app contains no advertising, no analytics SDK and no third-party trackers. It does not read your contacts, messages, photo library, call history or installed apps.
How it is used
Collected data is used to assign and complete deliveries, to give customers live tracking and delivery confirmation, to calculate your earnings and reconcile cash you handle, and to resolve disputes about whether and how a parcel was delivered. It is not sold, rented or shared for advertising.
Who it is shared with
- The merchant whose parcel you are carrying, and the recipient, see delivery status, proof-of-delivery images and — while a delivery is out for delivery — the courier’s position on a map.
- RideNow Delivery staff (dispatch, warehouse and administration) see your deliveries, location history, attendance and cash position.
- Infrastructure providersthat host the service and its database, and Google Maps for map display and navigation links. Opening navigation hands the destination address to Google Maps under Google’s own privacy policy.
We also disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long it is kept
Delivery records, proof-of-delivery images and cash records are retained for as long as the shipment they document may be disputed or audited, and as required by tax and commercial record-keeping law. Location points are retained for operational review and route replay, then deleted. Your account is deactivated when you stop driving for RideNow Delivery.
Working offline
When your phone has no signal, deliveries you complete are stored on the device itself and sent to our servers automatically once you are back in coverage. Until then that data — including proof-of-delivery images — sits only in your phone’s app storage.
Your choices
- Location sharing is under your control through the Go onlinetoggle and your phone’s location permission. Turning it off stops collection, but dispatch cannot assign or track work while it is off.
- You can ask for a copy of the data held about you, ask for corrections, or ask for deletion where we are not legally required to keep it. Contact us at the address below.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and access is restricted to authenticated accounts. The Android app refuses unencrypted connections entirely.
Children
The app is for adults working as couriers and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version appears at this address with a new date. The app updates itself from our servers, so material changes will reach you without reinstalling.
